Born and educated in Mumbai, Dipti’s eight year career in Dubai as an Interior Designer ensured her continuous connection to Art. The act of creation always gave her pleasure and she felt immense satisfaction when she took up painting as a full-time pursuit. It was as if she had finally reached home.
IN HER OWN WORDS:
I’ve always been sensitive to inspiration from reality that resonates with my inner world. Painting is my way of translating this inspiration onto a canvas. It is also my way of sharing the inspiration.
Everything I paint comes in its own time. Meditation helps me to calm my mind and hear my inner voice which guides me through my work. My garden is my sanctuary where inspiration is received and ideas are conceived. My studio in my living room is the zone where the inspiration and ideas are manifested onto the canvas
I realized early on as a painter that creativity cannot and must not have any boundaries. I often get asked what kind of paintings I do. If I have to classify them, I’d call them OPEN. My Art, mostly absent description, has a meaning for me but I leave to the viewer to determine her own meaning. I admit to be even curious to others’ interpretations and see what creative thought process emerges from free minds.
Wassily Kandinsky said that Art is a power that should be aimed at developing the soul. I have been blessed to have experienced this power first hand. My aim everyday is to Listen, Follow and Create – a process that unfolds when the Heart & Mind & Body become ONE.
